SHELBYVILLE -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg pounded out 16 hits and claimed a 14-0 opening baseball season victory over Shelbyville Thursday.
The two teams went scoreless in the opening inning before the Hatchets broke loose with three runs in the second, six in the third, three in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Nic Hutchinson picked up the pitching win, throwing a two-hitter with two walks and 10 strikeouts. Isaac Kramer came on in the final inning, allowng no hits, no walks and striking out two.
Hutchingon also led the way in hitting with two singles, a double and drove in three runs while Dalton Armes had two singles and a double, Josh Overbeck three singles, Beau Bennett a single, double and three RBI, Christian Kessler two singles and two RBI and Derek Moschenrose a double and two RBI.

Casey-Westfield came calling and blanked Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 8-0. The Warriors tallied two in the first inning, one in the second and one in the third.
CHBC had three hits, singles by Grove, Kirchhofer and Clearwater.
Casey-Westfield had seven hits led by Glidewell with two singles and Adams with a double and an RBI.

At Louisville
North Clay (Louisville) swept a doubleheader over Illinois Lutheran in action Thursday.
North Clay won the opener 5-1. The Cardinals had two-run innings in the second and fourth. North Clay had nine hits led by Aldrich with three singles and an RBI and Repking with two singles and two RBI.
The Cardinals had six pitchers with Blank taking the win.
In the second contest, North Clay had 10 hits and was aided by five Illinois Lutheran errors in a 14-1 win in four innings.
Aldrich had four singles while Bloemer and Blank had a single and a double each and Lovett two singles.
Burkett threw two innings, alloqing two hits, one run, one walk and striking out three in the win. Repking came on to go two innings, allowing no hits, no runs, no walks and striking out three.

Marshall came calling at Cumberland and downed the Pirates 15-4 in five innings.
Marshall held a 6-0 lead after the first three innings then had a nine-run fifth. Cumberland tallied two in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Marshall had 17 hits while Cumberland had six.
Brown had a single and two RBI for the Pirates while Flier had a single and two RBI.

The Eagles scored five runs in the third then had single runs in the fourth and fifth and two in the sixth.
Jansen picked up the pitching win, going five innings, allowing four hits, one walk and one strikeout.
Meinhart had a single and double for the winners.
