I’m Tonya Siner and married to Jim Siner. We have a daughter (Peyton) who is our little guardian angel up in heaven and three boys (Patrick, Parker and Preston) who totally keep us hopping. I’m a 1987 graduate of Effingham High School.
Before graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Communications at Lake Land College in 1989, I worked as a part time Disc Jockey at WCRC/WCRA in 1988 until the early 90’s. After graduating with my Bachelors Degree in Communications from Sangamon State University now known as the University of Illinois of Springfield in 1991, I worked at radio stations in Springfield, WMAY/ WNNS/WQLZ as a Sales Assistant then as Account Executive. I didn’t really want to give up being a disc jockey so I started working part time on the weekends on WQLZ (Rock Station). No, I couldn’t play Madonna on that station which was a bummer.
I decided to move back to Effingham to take a break from radio for just a bit. I started the life of being in retail at Maurices. Then after a few years, I started to miss the life of being in radio. So in 1998, I started at Premier Broadcasting as an Account Executive. By 2003, I was promoted to Vice President of Operations as well as Sales Manager.
In 2000, I earned my certificate as a Certified Radio Marketing Consultant (CRMC). In 2008, I earned my certificate as a Certified Digital Marketing Consultant (CDMC). In 2012, I earned my certificate as a Certified Digital Marketing Consultant 2.0 (CDMC 2.0). I do strive to learn as much as I possibly can about radio and marketing in general because it is such an ever changing industry and I want to give my clients the most up to date information regarding their marketing decisions.
I am a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Effingham Noon Rotary and Past President (2008-2009) as well as a member of the USBC Effingham Women’s Bowling Association and Secretary of the K’Dette Bowling League. Yes I am a bowler and have been for many years.
I am an Effingham County Chamber Ambassador as well as serving on various committees such as the Retail & Tourism through Vision 2020, Donor Relations through St. Anthony Hospital, Strategic Training and Restoration (better known as S.T.A.R.) through the Drug Court Program.
and Publicity Chair through the Effingham County Relay for Life. My most favorite thing to do is to be the biggest cheerleader for my boys as they participate in their sports as well as support Jim in his racing series (POWRI). Go Team Siner!!!
