North Clay Wins Baseball Season Opener

North Clay High School opened the baseball season with a bang by pounding Red Hill (Bridgeport) 16-0 in five innings Thursday.

The Cardinals ran off to a 9-0 first inning lead then tacked on five in the second, two in the third and ended the game via the 10-run rule in the fifth.

North Clay had seven hits in the contest led by Lovett with a solo home run and Repking with three singles and two RBI. Aldrich had a single and drove in three runs.

Bloemer picked up the pitching win, going two innings, allowing no hits and striking out one. Three other pitchers threw over the next three innings.
