Shumway Man Indicted for Multiple Sex Offenses

A local man has been indicted by an Effingham County Grand Jury on four separate counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, involving three separate victims.
51-year-old Sean E. Morris of Shumway was indicted by the Grand Jury Wednesday. Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse is a Class 2 Felony, with each count punishable by up to three to seven years in prison.
The indictments follow a lengthy investigation by the Effingham County Sheriff's Office related to allegations against Morris. The Effingham County Sheriff's Office was assisted in the investigation by the Effingham County State's Attorney's Office and the Effingham City Police Department.
