Weber Receives 40 & 8 State Nurse of the Year Award

Every year the Illinois 40 & 8 looks to honor a nurse in the state with a Nurse of the Year Award. Applications are submitted by the local 40 & 8 organization.

This year Effingham County 40 & 8 nominated Kathleen Weber of Effingham for the Nurse of the Year. Her application was selected because of her dedication to nursing (50+ yrs) and her community activities.

The next step is in 2025 when Kate will be nominated for the National Nurse of the Year representing the 40 & 8 for the State of Illinois.

Kate is married to Roy Weber; they have been married for 49 years and live in rural Effingham. Kate and Roy have 4 children and 8 children.
