Lake Land College trustees have approved the changes to the Effingham/Effingham County Enterprise Zone enhancements.

The changes involve exemptions of sales tax on building materials, as well as property tax exemptions for qualifying residential projects within the zone.

The Board of Trustees also voted to continue the Foundation tax levy, this year at 10.33 cents to meet the average levies of community colleges statewide for their education fund and their operations and maintenance fund. Also approved was the award of health, dental and vision insurance to Aetna at a 5% increase on the health and dental coverage.

Trustees also approved acceptance of a PATH grant program. The program through the Illinois Community College Board will provide help to up to 25 nursing students and up to 25 paramedic students. The grants will pay for supplement wages for students who have to work less to complete their studies. The program will take effect during Spring Semester 2023.
