The rummage sales and flea market begins at 7 a.m. While traveling the streets, be on the lookout for garden gnomes, the village trademark. The 2020 gnome census revealed nearly 1400 gnomes in town.
Anyone having a rummage sale can sign up at the post office to be added to the list, which will be posted on Facebook, “Strasburg, IL: Right In The Middle of Everything!” Check the list, as some sales will be held both Friday and Saturday.
In addition to town wide rummage sales is a “Flea Market at the Farm” along North Route 32. The Flea Market will feature toy and pedal tractors, antiques, comic books, fishing tackle, plants, and more.
Also, the Strasburg American Legion Auxiliary Unit #289 will be holding Poppy Days on May 24 and 25. Each year millions of Americans wear little red poppies in memory of those who have died in all wars and to assist in the rehabilitation of those Veterans who are now hospitalized suffering from wounds and illness.
Your support of these fundraisers and activities is appreciated.
