Marlee Nolen of St. Elmo Monday was crowned 2019 Fayette County Fair queen.

Queen Marlee was one of seven contestants for the honor. She will reign over the balance of this year's fair and will compete in January at the Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant in Springfield. If she wins there, Queen Marlee would reign over the 2020 Illinois State Fair and DuQuoin State Fair.

The new queen also was named the People's Choice Award winner.

By the way, Queen Marlee was crowned Effingham County's Junior Miss in 2014.

Faith Williams of Ramsey was first runner-up while Baylie Maske of St. Peter was second runner-up and was also named Miss Congeniality. Shelby Nash was named Miss Photogenic.

Brylie Schmid of Vandalia was named Little Miss Fayette County Fair queen.

The fair continues tonight with truck and tractor pull action at 7pm.

The 4-H livestock auction is tonight at 6:00.

The fair at Brownstown runs through Saturday.
