The Chicago-based Heartland Alliance says more Illinois counties are on their poverty watch or warning lists this year than last year.

Heartland Alliance uses four indicators in determining their list: poverty, unemployment, teen births, and high school graduations.

67 of Illinois' 102 counties are on the agency's watch or warning lists.

Effingham County, Cumberland County and Jasper County are not on one of the agency's lists.

Jasper County, Fayette County and Clay County are on the poverty watch list.

No area counties are on the poverty warning list.
