Illinois State Police released the identities of those killed in a multi-vehicle crash in southern Illinois on Sunday.

The crash occurred during the noon hour on I-24 in Massac County. A semi failed to reduce speed and struck a line of vehicles resulting in a chain-reaction crash.

Three people were killed and six were transported to area hospitals. Four others involved were not injured.

One of those killed has been identified as 56-year-old Lisa D. Earnest of Vandalia. The other two were James and Marilyn Donnelly of Bellevue, Nebraska.

The semi driver, 57-year-old Rickey Warren of Holly Springs, Mississippi, was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash and following too closely.
