Phone Scam Reported in Strasburg

Another phone call scam has been tried, this one in Strasburg.

Joe Oakley said he received a voicemail Tuesday stating that his Social Security had been frozen and that he must "press 1" on the phone or he might be arrested.

The message also gave a phone number...1-206-582-0084...that he was supposed to call.

Joe said he deleted his message and then contacted the Shelby County Sheriff's Department. Deputies confirmed that the incident was a scam.

If you get such a voicemail, delete it. If someone phones you about something like this, simply hang up.
