The attempted murder trial of Gregory Hill in Fayette County has been delayed until August.

Defense attorneys said at a pre-trial hearing Tuesday afternoon they were ready to go to trial, but prosecutors said due to witness unavailability they needed a continuance in the case.

Judge Kevin Parker granted the prosecution motion for the delay, but the delay was charged against the prosecution. Rather than July 15, the case is now to go to trial on August 19. A final pre-trial hearing will take place on August 15.

In addition to attempted murder, the 50-year-old Hill is charged with aggravated domestic battery. Hill is accused of injuring his wife in August of 2017 when he allegedly threw her to the floor, causing a spinal cord injury that resulted in paralysis.

Hill is being held in Fayette County Jail on $750,000 bond.
