Kinmundy Man Killed in Morning Crash

A Kinmundy man was killed in a car-train crash Wednesday morning.

Dead is 47-year-old Chad Hawkey. State police report Hawkey's car was traveling on Currie Road from Basom Road at 6:46am. Police say Hawkey's car pulled onto the tracks and was struck by a train.

Hawkey was fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Coroner Troy Cannon. 

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
