Stewardson Trinity Wins Title, Sacred Heart Claims Victories

Stewardson Trinity Cardinals participated in the Newton St. Thomas Seventh Grade Invitational Saturday. Trinity defeated Dieterich 25-7, 25-17 and Paris Crestwood 25-12, 25-6.
Trinity beat Albion Lady Lions for the championship title 25-11, 25-10.
"The score doesn’t reflect the actual play of the game," said Coach Ronda Schlechte. "We did have to work for this game since Albion does have some height."
The Trinity Cardinals are now 8-0 for the seventh grade season. The Cardinals will attend the St. Anthony eighth grade tournament this coming Saturday.
St. Anthony fell to Newton St. Thomas 25-8, 25-16. then won over Dieterich 25-22, 25-18 to finish in fifth place.

Effingham Sacred Heart defeated Stewardson-Strasburg in all three matches.
The Shamrocks won the seventh-grade contest 23-25, 25-18, 25-19 to remain unbeaten at 6-0 on the season. In eighth-grade play, Sacred Heart improved to 5-1 with 25-15, 17-25, 29-27 victories.
In fifth-sixth grade action, Sacred Heart won 38-25.
