Shamrocks Down St. Thomas, Jasper Co., Altamont Split

In junior high volleyball action Thursday evening, Effingham Sacred Heart picked up two victories over Newton St. Thomas.

The Shamrocks won the seventh-grade contest 25-9, 25-12 to improve to 2-0. In eighth-grade play, Sacred Heart won 25-19, 25-23 and is now 2-0.

In a fifth-sixth-grade match, St. Thomas won 25-7, 26-24.

At Effingham

Jasper County was a winner in seventh-grade action over Altamont, 25-23, 25-21.

In eighth-grade play, Altamont won in three sets, 22-25, 25-14, 25-20.
