Tri-County Wins Arcola Tourney, Altamont Seventh

ARCOLA -- Tri-County remained unbeaten on the season by capturing the championship of the Arcola Volleyball Tournament Saturday.
In Pool B play, Tri-County finished 3-0 while Central A&M was 1-2, Sullivan 1-2 and Altamont 1-2. In Pool A play, Arthur-Lovington was 3-0, Marshall 2-1, Arcola 1-2 and Argenta-Oreana 0-3.
Pool A scores were: Arthur-Lovington defeated Arcola 17-25, 25-16, 15-10; Marshall defeated Argenta-Oreana JV 25-14, 25-9; Marshall defeated Arcola 19-25, 25-19, 15-7; Arthur-Lovington defeated Marshall 25-23, 25-22 and Arcola defeated Argenta-Oreana JV 25-5, 25-19.
Pool B scores were: Tri-County defeated Sullivan 25-20, 25-20; Altamont defeated Central A&M 28-26, 25-23; Tri-County defeated Altamont 22-25, 27-25, 15-7; Central A&M defeated Sullivan 25-22, 25-18; Sullivan defeated Altamont 25-8, 25-22 and Tri-County defeated Central A&M 22-25, 25-14, 15-11.
In the finals, Altamont defeated Argenta-Oreana JV 25-6, 25-8 for seventh place. Arcola defeated Sullivan 26-24, 21-25, 15-8 for fifth place. Marshall defeated Central A&M 25-19, 24-26, 15-13 for third place and Tri-County defeated Arthur-Lovington 25-14, 25-21 for the championship.
The Lancers have had their best start in school history with a perfect 16-0 record.
Altamont sports a 16-4 mark on the season.
