Class 7-1A Mulberry Grove Regional
Newton St. Thomas saw its season come to a close at the Mulberry Grove Regional.
Host Mulberry Grove was a winner over St. Thomas, 25-19, 25-18 in the second match of the evening.
In the opener, Grayville downed West Salem, 21-25, 25-20, 25-22.
Grayville and Mulberry Grove will now square off for the championship Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Class 7-1A Sigel St. Michael Regional
Martinsville and Mattoon St. John's claimed victories in the St. Michael Regional.
Martinsville won over Oakland Lake Crest, 25-12, 25-20.
In the second match, Mattoon St. John's downed Sigel St. Michael. St. John's won the opening set 25-15. St. Michael came back with a victory 25-23 but St. John's won the match, 25-21.
Martinsville and Mattoon St. John's now meet today for the regional championship at 6 p.m.
Class 2A Casey-Westfield Regional
North Clay remained unbeaten on the season by handing Casey-Wrstfield a loss, 25-21, 25-15.
North Clay sports a 21-0 record.
In the second contest, Oblong ended Effingham St. Anthony's season, 25-15, 25-17.
North Clay will now take on Oblong at 6 p.m. Wednesday for the regional championship.
Class 7-2A Assumption Central A&M Regional
South Central advanced to the championship match of the Central A&M Regional with a victory Monday.
In Saturday matches, Nokomis beat Altamont, 24-26, 25-22, 25-20 and CHBC won over St. Elmo/Brownstown 25-21, 21-25, 25-13.
In Monday evening's contests, Assumption Central A&M defeated Nokomis, 25-21, 25-17.
In the second match, two National Trail Conference teams went head-to-head. South Central won against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 25-3, 25-15.
CHBC was led by Alyson Lawrence with three kills, Kaycie Thatcher and Elaine Thompson with one ace each, Valentina Doty with two assists and two digs, Anna Hart with two digs and Thompson with two points.
South Central will now take on Assumption Central A&M Wednesday for the championship at 6 p.m.
Class 7-2A Assumption Central A&M Regional
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City -- Hart, 1 kill, 2 digs, 1 point; Pope, 1 point; Thatcher, 1 ace, 1 point; Lawrence, 3 kills, 1 dig; Thompson, 1 ace, 1 dig, 2 points; Doty, 2 assists, 2 digs; Goeckner, 1 kill, 1 dig; Sears, 1 dig
Class 7-4A Taylorville Regional
Rochester ended Effingham's season in the Taylorville Regional Monday evening.
The Mustangs won the opener 25-20. But Rochester came back with 25-19, 25-22 scores for the match victory.
Kendyl Smith led the Mustangs in kills with nine and aces with three. Emma Hood also had three aces. Kenley Moore led in assists with 11. Miley Wilson and Cloie Bailey had one block each. Arabella Barnhart led in digs with 18 and Bailey had 16.
Effingham ends the season with an 18-3 record.
Taylorville won the opener over Mount Zion, 25-11, 25-18.
Taylorville and Rochester will meet at 5:30 today for the regional championshp.
Class 7-4A Taylorville Regional
