COWDEN -- Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City hosted Altamont and claimed two victories in junior high volleyball competition Tuesday.

The two teams went three sets in each match before CHBC came out the winner. The Bobcats won the seventh-grade match, 25-20, 14-25, 25-20.

Hadley Pope led CHBC in aces with five and points with 12. Kaycie Thatcher had five assists while Alyson Lawrence led in digs with seven. Anna Hart led in kills with 10. Hart and Elaina Thompson had one block each.

Altamont was led by Payton Ort with 11 aces and nine digs. Teegan Burrus led in assists with six. Mia Totten had seven kills and Addi Neu had one block. Altamont is now 10-13.

In the eighth-grade match, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City won 25-21, 11-25, 25-18. Harper Lilly led in kills with three, had one block and eight digs. Natalie Tucker led in assists with six, had one block and eight digs. Sophie Zumbahlen had three kills and Kyndra Steiner led in aces with five and points with nine.

Adelita Ruffner led Altamont in kills with eight. Emma Bannig led in aces with seven.Sophia Hendrickson, Summer Martin and Kara Bauer led in digs with four each. Altamont dropped to 3-18.

At Cowden

At Palestine

Jasper County downed Hutsonville/Palestine in seventh-grade action Tuesday evening, 25-15, 25-18.

Ochs led in aces with six and kills with six. Mulvey had seven assists. Zumbahlen, Ginder and Wolf had one dig each.

In the eighth-grade match, Meinhart and Groves had four aces each. Kuhl led in kills with three. Wagner had five assists and two digs. Copper had two digs and Stanley led in blocks with two.

Jasper County is back in action Thursday at Lawrenceville with a 4:30 p.m. start.

At Palestine

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis dropped two matches to Stewardson Trinity Tuesday evening.

Stewardson Trinity was a winner in the seventh-grade, 25-15, 25-17.

In eighth-grade action, Trinity won 25-17, 25-14.

At Louisville

North Clay handed Fairfield a loss on its Eighth-Grade Night. The winners took the match 25-19, 25-23 to improve to 16-7 on the season.

In the seventh-grade contest, North Clay was a winner 25-13, 25-14 and stayed unbeaten at 19-0.

North Clay is back in action at Neoga Thursday.
