NEWTON -- Jasper County was a winner in both seventh- and eighth-grade volleyball competition Monday evening over Teutopolis.

Jasper County claimed the seventh-grade match, 25-14, 20-25, 25-12

Wolf led in aces with eight for the winners while Mulvey led in kills with six and assists with six. Jansen, Zumbahlen, Wolf and Lingafelter had one dig each. The winners improve to 5-2 on the season.

In eighth-grade play, Jasper County beat T-town, 25-17, 25-22 to improve to 6-1.

Stanley had three aces. Wagner led in kills with eight and assists with 10. Thomann had three digs and one block.

Teutopolis was led by Bella Niebrugge with four kills and three aces. Faith Ruholl had six digs. Lily Tegler finished with four assists.

Jasper County is back in action today at Cumberland with the seventh-grade match starting at 4:30 p.m.

T-town returns to play today at Charleston.

At Neoga

Neoga was a winner in both matches over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Monday.

Neoga claimed the seventh-grade match, 25-16, 25-21.

CHBC was led by Elaina Thompson with three kills, Anna Hart, Kayce Thatcher and Hailee Goeckner with three aces each. Thatcher and Harper Collins with one assist each, Reece Vaughn and Hart with one dig each and Hart and Goeckner with five points each.

In the eighth-grade match, CHBC won the first set 25-16 but Neoga came back with 25-18, 25-17 scores for the match.

The Bobcats were led by Harper Lilly with five kills and two blocks, Raylee Martin with four aces, Natalie Tucker with 12 points and Lyric Bennett with six digs.

At Neoga

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City -- Vaughn, 2 aces, 1 dig, 4 points; Hart, 3 aces, 1 dig, 5 points; Thatcher, 1 kill, 3 aces, 1 assist, 4 digs; Collins, 1 kill, 1 assist, 1 point; Thompson, 3 kills, 2 aces, 4 points; Goeckner, 1 kill, 3 aces, 5 points

Eighth-Grade Match

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City -- Lilly, 5 kills, 2 blocks, 3 digs, 3 points; Tucker, 1 ace, 3 assists, 2 digs, 12 points; Martin, 3 kills, 4 aces, 5 digs, 5 points; Bennett, 3 aces, 6 digs, 5 points; Zumbahlen, 2 kills, 4 digs, 4 points; Dunn, 1 assist, 5 digs, 1 point; Brown, 1 dig, 4 points

 

At Altamont

Stewardson Trinity Lutheran won both matches over Altamont in Monday evening action.

Trinity was a 25-20, 25-11 winner in seventh-grade play.

Altamont was led by Teegan Burrus with four assists, Addi Neu with three aces, Mia Totten with four kills, Neu and Aubrey Roberts with one block each and Neu with two digs. Altamont dropped to 4-5 on the season.

In the eighth-grade matchup, Stewardson Trinity won 25-13, 25-6.

Altamont was led by Sophia Hendrickson, Summer Martin and Kara Bauer with one ace each. Bauer had three assists and one block. Martin led in kills with three. Emma Banning had two digs.

Altamont -- Burrus, 1 ace, 4 assists; Marshall, 1 ace, 1 assist; Merritt, 1 ace, 2 kills; Neu, 3 aces, 1 block, 2 digs; Polk, 1 dig; Roberts, 1 block; Totten, 4 kills

At Louisville

North Clay won the seventh-grade match over St. Peter Lutheran, 25-10, 25-6.

In eighth-grade action, St. Peter was a 14-25, 25-20, 15-11 winner.

North Clay is back in action today at St. Anthony starting at 5 p.m.
