Effingham and Teutopolis split victories in junior high volleyball competition Monday evening.

The Mustangs won the seventh-grade match, 25-18, 25-9 to improve to 1-1 on the season.

Kendyl Smith led in kills with four and aces with six. Cloie Bailey had three assists. Miley Wilson finished with one blocked shot. Madalyn Hoffman led in digs with five.

In eighth-grade play, Teutopolis was a winner. The Mustangs won the opener 26-24 but the Shoes came back to take the next two sets, 25-20, 25-23 for the match.

EJHS dropped to 0-2 on the season. April Martin led in kills with 16, blocks with two and digs with 16 for Effingham. Olivia Koester had seven aces. Alayna Wade led in assists with nine.

At Neoga

Effingham St. Anthony and Neoga picked up a victory each in Monday evening play.

St. Anthony was a winner in the seventh-grade match, 25-20, 25-19.

Leading the Bullpups were Caelyn Buehnerkemper and Jacklyn Nuxoll with two kills each, Nina Semple with three assists, Syvia Semple with two digs and Bella Schultz with seven aces.

Neoga was the winner in the eighth-grade contest, 25-16, 25-11.

St. Anthony was led by Ava Hendrickson with two kills and one dig, Norah Niebrugge with two assists and one dig, Hanna Frisbie with one dig and Payton Clark with one dig, Mallory Litz with one block and Taylor Denning with two aces.

At Neoga

At Kinmundy

South Central hosted Altamont and picked up two victories over the visitors Monday evening.

In the seventh-grade match, South Central won 25-17, 25-2.

In eighth-grade play, South Central was a winner, 25-8, 25-7.
