The Hatchets won in two sets, 25-15, 25-16.
"Whew," said WSS Coach Ronda Schlechte. "One more win. Thank you to the fans that made the trip tonight and those who listened on the radio. We love the support. I thought the girls played well tonight and look forward to playing Heyworth on Thursday. Sweet 16 feels good!"
Kinley Quast and Alaira Friese had two aces each. Colby McCormick led in kills with five. Brinlie Durbin had 13 assists. Leading in digs was Mya Friese with eight. Samantha Hayes had one block and Ellie Wittenberg had three block assists.
In the opening match, Heyworth defeated Oblong, 25-14, 25-14.
Windsor/Stew-Stras and Heyworth will square off at 6 p.m. Thursday for the sectional championship and the right to advance to the Lexington Super-sectional Monday at Lexington High School.
Class 1A Tuscola Sectional

At Fairfield
Newton advanced to the championship match of the Class 2A Fairfield Sectional with a victory Tuesday evening.
The Eagles fell in the opening set 25-14 but rallied to come back and take the match over Pinckneyville with 25-21, 25-23 counts.
Four Newton players were even in kills with five each and those included Hydi Bierman, Camryn Martin, Sally Mahaffey and Bailee Frichtl.
Allie Hermann led in aces with four. Mahaffey has 15 assists. Frichtl led in digs with 14 while Hermann and Martin had 12 each. Bierman led the way in blocks with three.
Newton is now 32-6 on the season. The Eagles will now face Carmi-White County at 6 p.m. Thursday for the sectional championship and the right to advance to the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Super-sectional.
Class 2A Fairfield Sectional

At Salem
Effingham High School saw its outstanding season come to a close with a loss in the Class 3A Salem Sectional Tuesday evening.
The Hearts fell in two sets, 25-20, 25-22 to Waterloo.
"Not our best match of the year," said EHS Coach Laurie Bohnhoff. "But Waterloo played well and they played some really good defense. We had a hard time getting a double block on their hitters. Our seniors had a great season and they have a lot to be proud of. Thirty wins, three tournament championships and a regional title. We came up short tonight but the season was filled with great memories and great volleyball."
Bria Beals, Bella Austin and Mckenzie Love had seven kills each for the Hearts. Austin led in aces with two. Berkley Pullen and Hanna Thompson had 11 assists each. Reaghan Delong and Love had one block each. Beals led in digs with nine.
Mascoutah won the second match over Troy Triad, 25-18, 25-15.
Waterloo and Mascoutah will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday for the sectional championship and the right to advance to the Effingham Super-sectional Monday against the winner of the Mahomet-Seymour Sectional, either Normal University or Mahomet-Seymour. Those two squads meet Thursday at 6 p.m.
