FARINA -- South Central handed Webber Township a loss in two sets Friday in high school volleyball competition.

The Cougars won 25-18, 25-19 to improve to 12-11 on the season. Jalynn Mitchell led in digs with 14 while Kinlee Thompson had eight kills. Mya Schaal and Reagan Roberts put down one block each. Zoey Feldhake had three aces. River Yingst led in assists with 11.

At Farina

South Central -- Mitchell, 14 digs; Wodtka, 5 kills; Swift, 1 ace, 8 digs; Thompson, 8 kills, 1 dig; Schaal, 6 kills, 1 block, 2 digs; Roberts, 2 aces, 1 kill, 1 block, 10 assists, 8 digs; Feldhake, 3 aces, 9 digs; Johnson, 2 kills, 1 dig; Yingst, 2 aces, 1 kill, 11 assists, 6 digs

 

At St. Elmo

St. Elmo/Brownstown claimed a National Trail Conference victory over North Clay (Louisville) Friday.

The Eagles won 25-17, 25-21.

St. Elmo/Brownstown was led by Addie Sasse and Mya Barker with one ace each. Presley Williams had eight kills. Sasse led in assists with 13 and digs with seven.

At Strasburg

Teutopolis traveled to Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Friday and fell to the homestanders. The Shoes had a 25-22 opening set win but Windsor/Stew-Stras came back with 25-13, 25-16 scores for the win.

T-town was led by Kaylie Jordan with six points, Madison Miller with four blocks and five kills, Claresa Ruholl with 25 digs, Paige Swingler with six points and Sara Zumbahlen with 11 assists.

In the junior varsity contest, T-town was am 18-25, 25-13, 15-8 winner and is now 14-1 on the season.

T-town also claimed a freshman contest, 25-21, 25-12 and improved to 16-4.

At Effingham St. Anthony

Effingham won the freshman/sophomore Effingham St. Anthony Volleyball Tournament  Saturday.

The Hearts defeated Dieterich, 25-15, 25-13; Teutopolis, 25-19, 26-24; St. Anthony, 25-17, 25-10 and Newton, 25-21, 25-18.

In other matches, Newton won over St. Anthony, 25-15, 25-13, downed Patoka, 25-20, 25-4 and won over Teutopolis 14-25, 25-23, 15-12

St. Anthony defeated Patoka 25-20, 27-25. and Dieterich, 21-25, 25-15, 17-15. T-town beat Patoka 26-24, 25-17 and Dieterich 25-12, 25-18.

The Wooden Shoes took third place with a 25-12, 22-25, 25-5 win over St. Anthony.
