FARINA -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg came calling on South Central as the two National Trail Conference teams met in high school volleyball action Monday evening.

The Hatchets came out the winner 25-12, 25-9 to improve to 4-0 in the conference, 9-4 overall.

"The score really doesn't give South Central the credit they deserve," said WSS Coach Ronda Schlechte. "Their defense really impressed me tonight. They were able to pull up a lot of our hits and we really had to work to find the floor."

Mya Friese led the winners in kills with seven and aces with four. Brinlie Durbin had 11 assists. Kinley Quast finished with 12 digs. Brooke Schumacher had one solo block and three block assists.

South Central finished with a team total of 49 digs in the contest led by Jalynn Mitchell with 15. Bailey Wodtka and Lauren Johnson had two kills each. River Yingst finished with three assists and had seven digs along with Zoey Feldhake.

In the junior varsity match, South Central pulled out a 25-21, 19-25, 28-26 victory to improve to 5-3. Windsor/Stew-Stras dropped to 6-5.

In the freshman/sophomore contest, Windsor/Stew-Stras won the opener 25-22 but South Central came back with a 25-23 tally for the split.

At Greenup

Neoga tallied a victory over Cumberland in Monday evening competition.

The Indians lost the opening set 25-20 before coming back with 25-16, 25-11 scores for the match win.

The Pirates were led by Leah Gray with 10 digs, Alysa Dittamore with 12 assists, MacKenzie Claybaugh and Maddy McElravy with six kills each, Mia Holsapple with one block and Dittamore with two aces.

In the junior varsity contest, Cumberland was a winner 25-17, 25-19 to improve to 4-4.

Cumberland is back in action tonight hosting Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond.

Dieterich played host to North Clay (Louisville) as two National Trail Conference teams squared off Monday.

Dieterich claimed a 25-18, 11-25, 25-14 victory and is now 11-8 overall.

Ella Kreke, Bailey McClain and Allie Uthell had one ace each. Kinli Michl finished with 16 digs. Marli Michl and Uthell tallied 10 kills each. Kreke had 20 assists.

The Movin' Maroons improved to 11-8 overall.

At Dieterich

At Greenville

Teutopolis won both the varsity and junior varsity matches over Greenville Monday evening.

The Wooden Shoes claimed 25-22, 25-6 wins in varsity play. Ava Ruholl, Claresa Ruholl and Paige Swingler finished with seven points each. Ruholl led in digs with 11. Swingler led in aces with four. Gabby Tegler had four kills. Sara Zumbahlen led in assists with nine.

The Wooden Shoes improved to 12-7 on the season.

T-town also captured the junior varsity match,. The Shoes lost the opener 25-23 but came back with 26-24, 15-12 scores to improve to 9-1 on the season.

Greenville won the freshman contest, 21-13, 21-10.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City downed Central A&M in varsity action Monday evening.

The Bobcats won 25-22, 25-14. Kyleigh Wallace and Macee Rodman finished with eight kills each. Wallace led in aces with two. Gracie Wright had 16 assists. Ellie Miller and Birgen Schlanser had 11 digs each. Allison Shields had one blocked shot.

Central A&M won the junior varsity contest 25-12, 25-18. The two teams split freshman/sophomore wins. CHBC won 25-20 while Central A&M also was a 25-20 winner.

At Cowden

St. Elmo/Brownstown sent Casey-Westfield home with a 25-23, 27-25 loss in varsity play Monday evening.

Peyton Barker served up four aces to lead the winners in that category and also led in points with 11. Addie Sassse led in kills with four, blocked shots with four and assists with seven. Maya Barker had seven digs.
