The National Trail Conference Eighth-Grade Volleyball Tournament was supposed to start Saturday but due to the weather conditions, it was postponed.
The tournament will now begin Wednesday with opening round matches starting at 3:30 p.m.
At Effingham
Effingham hosted seventh- and eighth-grade volleyball tournaments Saturday.
In the seventh-grade meet, Teutopolis won over Effingham. Effingham won the opening set 27-25 but T-town came back with 25-11, 25-12 scores for the match.
Trinity won over Effingham St. Anthony, 25-21, 11-25, 15-9.
Effingham faced St. Anthony and was a winner 25-15, 25-23.
Trinity defeated Teutopolis, 15-25, 25-18, 15-7.
On Court 3, Teutopolis B downed Effingham B, 25-15, 25-18.
The eighth-grade teams played in the Kessler's Crossroads Classic Sideout Shootout Tournament.
In the Red Pool, Effingham beat Mount Pulaski, 12-25, 25-20, 15-11; Edwards County (Albion) won over Mount Pulaski, 20-25, 25-22, 15-8 and Trinity defeated Mount Pulaski, 25-20, 25-14 on Court 1.
On Court 2, Trinity beat Edwards County, 25-23, 25-15 and defeated Effingham, 25-9, 25-16. Effingham won over Edwards County, 25-23, 25-21.
In the Black Pool on Court 3, St. Anthony beat Hartem, 25-16, 25-19, Hartem then won over Teutopolis, 20-25, 25-23, 15-5 and downed Massac County, 26-24, 25-19.
On Court 4, Massac County beat Teutopolis, 25-21, 25-14 and downed St. Anthony, 25-23, 25-15. Teutopolis then defeated St. Anthony, 25-21, 26-24.
After pool play, Trinity had a 3-0 record, Massac County 2-1, Hartem 2-1, Effingham 2-1, St. Anthony 1-2, Teutopolis 1-2, Edwards County (Albion) 1-2 and Mount Pulaski 0-3.
Massac County then met Trinity for the championship and won 25-14, 25-11. The third place match went to Hartem over Effingham, 22-25, 25-6, 15-7.
The fifth place match went to St. Anthony over Edwards County (Albion), 19-25, 25-12, 15-10 and the seventh place match went to Teutopolis over Mount Pulaski, 25-12, 25-18
