Charleston claimed the opening set in the seventh-grade match 25-22. The Mustangs came back with a 25-14 win but Charleston claimed the match, 25-18.
Effingham was led by April Martin with four kills, one block and four digs, Skylar Harminson and Alayna Wade with two assists each. Wade had one block. Sophie Niebrugge led in aces with six.
In eighth-grade competition, the Mustangs tallied a 25-13 opening set victory. But Charleston came back with 25-22, 25-19 scores for the match.
The Mustangs were led by Keagyn Koenig with three aces and one block, Kiersten Baker also had one block. Emery Spicer led in kills with five. Seatyn Althoff had six assists. Nora Cekander led in digs with four.

At St. Elmo
St. Elmo/Brownstown scored two victories over Effingham St. Anthony Monday evening.
SEB won the seventh-grade match, 25-10, 25-18.
Leading St. Anthony were Carly Budde with one kill, Nora Niebrugge with two assists and Cheyenne Barker, Lilly Pervenecki and Peyton Clark with one ace each.
In the eighth-grade contest, St. Elmo/Brownstown won 25-18, 25-6.
The Bullpups were led by Madelyn Gilmore with four kills and one block, Pacey Douthit with three assists, Claire Kinkelar with three digs and Maggie Brant with three aces

At Louisville
Effingham Sacred Heart was a winner over North Clay (Louisville) in the eighth-grade match but fell in the seventh-grade contest Monday.
The Shamrocks won the eighth-grade contest. North Clay took the opening set 25-16 but Sacred Heart came back with 25-7, 25-21 victories.
In the seventh-grade contest, North Clay was a winner 25-21, 25-22.
At Newton
Jasper County handed Olney two losses in Monday evening competition.
Jasper County won the seventh-grade match, 25-9, 25-21 to improve to 14-2 on the season.
Meinhart led in aces with 12 and digs with three. Thomann had two kills and Wagner led in assists with four and Copper had one block.
In the eighth-grade match, Jasper County was a winner by 25-17, 25-17 scores.
Reich led the way for the winners in aces with seven. Brooks had four kills and Tate four assists. Ghast and Inyart had two digs each. Schackmann had one block.
Jasper County improved to 12-1 in eighth-grade play.
Jasper County is back in action today at Casey-Westfield with a 4:30 p.m. seventh-grade match and a 5:30 p.m. eighth-grade contest.
