MARTINSVILLE -- Jasper County split victories with Martinsville in junior high volleyball competition Tuesday evening.

 

Jasper County fell in the seventh-grade match, 25-23, 31-29. J. Stanley led in aces with five while L. Kuhl had five kills. P. Wagner led in assists with nine. B. Gentry had four digs. L. Thomann and Kuhl had one block each. Jasper County dropped to 9-2.

In the eighth-grade match, Martinsville won the first set 25-22 but Jasper County came back with 25-17, 25-17 scores for the match.

J. Reich led in aces with six. T. Jones had 10 kills. L. Ghast had six assists, G. Flowers had three digs and S. Schackmann had two blocks. The squad improved to 10-1.

At Charleston

Teutopolis handed Charleston losses in both seventh- and eighth-grade play Tuesday evening.

The Wooden Shoes lost the opening set in seventh-grade play 25-20 but came back with 25-15, 25-23 scores for the win.

T-town was led by Jenna Beckman with five assists, Addie Calkins with eight aces and Rose Brummer with seven kills.

In eighth-grade play, T-town won 25-12, 25-12 .

Cecilia Donsbach led in assists with four, Ella Willenborg had five aces and Alison Niemerg led in kills with three.

At Charleston

Seventh-Grade Match

Teutopolis -- Beckman, 1 ace, 5 assists, 4 kills; Tegler, 2 aces, 4 assists, 3 kills; Calkins, 8 aces; Brummer, 7 kills; Niebrugge, 3 aces, 5 kills; Travis, 1 ace

Teutopolis -- Donsbach, 4 assists, 2 aces, 1 kill; Isley, 1 kill, 2 assists; Meyer, 4 aces, 1 kill; Willenborg, 5 aces; Niemerg, 3 aces, 3 kills; Bloemer, 2 kills; Vahling, 3 aces, 1 kill

 

At Ramsey

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City fell to Ramsey in both matches Tuesday.

Ramsey was a 25-17, 25-23 winner in the seventh-grade contest. Lyric Bennett led in points with nine, Natalie Tucker had four aces and one assist. Harper Lilly had three kills. Raylee Martin led in blocks with two. Martin, Bennett, Allyssa Downs and Sophie Zumbahlen had one dig each.

In eighth-grade play, Ramsey was a 25-21, 26-24 winner. Leading CHBC were Allison Shields with eight points and three aces, Brylie Prater with three kills, Carissa Wakefield and Ethel Stuckemeyer with three blocks each and Wakefield with two digs. Jayla Arnett, Stuckemeyer and Prater had one assist each.

At Ramsey

At Strasburg

Stewardson-Strasburg claimed two victories over  Dieterich in Tuesday evening competition.

The seventh-grade team won 25-15, 26-24. Zoey Conder led in digs with three and kills with six, Anna Brown had seven assists, Camille Helmink had five aces and Brooklyn Spour had three digs.

In the eighth-grade match, Stew-Stras was a winner, 25-11, 25-9.

Edie Wittenberg led the winners in assists with nine and aces with five. Karly Wetherell had four digs and six kills while Ainslee Antrim and Zoey Conder also had four digs. Conder added one block.

At Strasburg

At Sigel

North Clay (Louisville) lost to Sigel St. Michael in both matches Tuesday evening.

St. Michael won the seventh-grade match, 25-6, 25-13.

In eighth-grade play, North Clay won the opening set 25-23 before the Sharpshooters came back to take the match, 25-16, 25-13.
