Stewardson Trinity Claims Newton St. Thomas, Windsor Tourneys

Stewardson Trinity eighth-grade won the Newton St. Thomas Tournament. NEWTON -- Stewardson Trinity claimed the championship of the Newton St. Thomas Eighth-Grade Volleyball Tournament Saturday.

Trinity defeated Paris Crestwood, 25-19, 25-18 and won over West Salem, 25-14, 25-16.

Trinity then defeated St. Thomas, 25-16, 25-20 and is now 7-1 on the season.

Trinity won the Sixth-Grade Tournament at Windsor Saturday with six teams entered including Windsor, Stew-Stras, Shelbyville, Sullivan 1, Sullivan 2 and Trinity.

In pool play, Trinity defeated Windsor, 25-4, 25-1 and Sullivan 1, 25-14, 25-12.

Trinity then faced Shelbyville, the winners of the other pool in the championship game. Trinity won 25-23, 25-20.
