St. A, Altamont Compete In Volleyball Tourneys

The Bulldogs defeated Mattoon, 25-15, 25-16 and won over Pana, 25-13, 25-15. St. Anthony fell to Chatham Glenwood 10-25, 25-15, 15-12.

St. Anthony came back to defeat Prairie Central, 25-17, 25-18 before losing to Quincy, 25-21, 26-28, 20-18.

The Bulldogs went 3-2 at the tournament and now stands at 27-8 overall. Andrea Rudolphi was named to the All-Tournament Team.

St. Anthony ended regular season play and will now face Patoka Co-op at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Class 1A St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional.

At Pawnee

Altamont  competed in the Pawnee Tournament Saturday.

The Indians went 2-3 in the tourney. Altamont opened with a 25-10, 25-18 loss to Nokomis. Grace Lemke and Della Berg had four kills each. Brianna Grunloh led in digs with six. Peyton Osteen had 12 assists. Lemke and Grunloh had two blocks each and Kylie Osteen one ace.

In the second match, Altamont defeated Tri-County 25-21, 25-23. P. Osteen led in aces with three and assists with 24. Lemke had eight kills. Grunloh led in digs with nine. K. Osteen had four blocks.

Taylorville defeated Altamont 25-15, 25-22.

Altamont was led by Makaylee Splechter with six kills, Grunloh with six digs, P. Osteen with 21 assists and Lemke with three blocks.

The Indians fell to Calvary, 25-21, 25-21. Della Berg had one ace while Maya Moore led in kills with six. Grunloh had seven digs. P. Osteen led in assists with 19.

Altamont then faced Tri-County again and claimed a 25-21, 25-20 win. Berg had two aces while Moore had 10 kills. Grunloh led in digs with six. P. Osteen had 19 assists. K. Osteen had four blocks

The Indians will return to action today against St. Elmo/Brownstown at 6 p.m. in the St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional.
