Area Teams Set To Open Regional Play In Volleyball

The regular high school volleyball season came to a close this week and regionals will open play Monday around the area.

Six area teams will be competing in the Class 1A St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional and they include Effingham St. Anthony, Altamont, St. Elmo/Brownstown, South Central, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and North Clay/Clay City.

Dieterich, Neoga and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg will take part in the Class 1A Bethany Okaw Valley Regional.

In Class 2A, Teutopolis is the lone area representative at the McLeansboro Hamilton County Regional.

Cumberland and Newton will take part in the 2A Lawrenceville Regional.

Effingham will play host to its own Class 3A regional.
