S. Central, NC/CC Win, Volleyball Roundup

FARINA -- South Central defeated Woodlawn in three sets of volleyball action Monday evening.

The Cougars fell in the opener 25-21 but came back with 25-23 and 25-15 sets for the victory.

Brooke Cowger led in blocks with three and aces with three. Megan Yates had 14 assists. Jalynn Mitchell had nine digs. Emma Jenne, Bailey Wodtka and Emma Chambers led in kills with six each. 

South Central improved to 2-1 on the season.

The Cougars junior varsity also was a winner. The squad lost the opener 25-21 but came back with 25-12, 15-5 sets for the match and improved to 2-1. The freshman/sophomore tied 23-25, 25-22 and is 0-1-1.

At Grayville

North Clay/Clay City handed Grayville a loss. The Cardinals won 25-15, 25-11 to improve to 6-2 on the season.

In junior varsity play, Grayville was a winner, 25-20, 25-11.

North Clay/Clay City is back in action Thursday against Lawrenceville.

 

At Nokomis

Nokomis downed Brownstown/St. Elmo in action Monday evening.

Nokomis was a winner 25-18, 25-13.

Brownstown/St. Elmo was led by Kinley Carson in aces with two and points with five. Anna Stine led in kills with two and blocks with one. Addie Sasse had three assists. Peyton Garrard led in digs with seven.

At Bethany

Okaw Valley handed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City a non-conference loss Monday.

Okaw Valley was a winner 25-23, 25-21. CHBC dropped to 2-1 on the season.

Ellie Miller and Macee Rodman led CHBC in kills with four each. Marissa Summers had two aces and 10 assists. Karlee Smith led in blocks with four. Miller and Rodman had 11 and 10 digs respectively.

Okaw Valley also claimed the junior varsity match, 25-23, 25-2.
