St. Elmo/Brownstown tallied a victory in two sets against  Martinsville in high school volleyball competition Tuesday.

SEB won 25-18, 25-15. Jayna Ireland led the team in kills with nine as BSE had a total of 22 kills during the evening.

Kinley Carson and Addi Sasse led in aces with three each. Sasse also led in assists with 12. Jayna Ireland led in kills with nine and had a blocked shot. Anna Stine and Peyton Gerrard had two digs each.

At Martinsville

At Olney

Teutopolis claimed varsity and junior varsity victories Tuesday over Richland County.

The Wooden Shoes captured the varsity match, 25-15, 25-18. Claresa Ruholl led in digs with 12. Danielle Probst had four aces and nine assists. Sara Niemerg led in kills with five and Emma Deters led in blocks with three.

"Early in a serving run by Daniellle Probst, a dig by Ava Ruholl led to a Shoe kill," said T-town Coach Jim Dietz. "Probst went on to serve seven more points after that and that was a key play. We did our silly run to start things with three unforced errors out of the gate, but after that, we played a smart match. We weren't aced once which is fabulous passing and by limiting our errors, we kept the pressure on Olney all evening."

In junior varsity play, T-town was a 25-10, 25-15 winner. Olivia Wittenmeyer led in aces with seven while Madison Miller and Gabby Tegeler had three kills each. Tegeler, Wittenmeyer and Megan Brummer had a block each. Kaley Jordan led in assists with seven. Paige Swingler had five aces and Olivia Cates led n digs with five.

At Mulberry Grove

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City went three sets before handing Mulberry Grove a loss Tuesday.

CHBC won the opener 25-16 before the Aces came back to take the next set 25-22. The  Bobcats then won the match, 25-19.

Macee Rodman had six kills while Karlee Smith and Kyleigh Wallace had five each. Smith and Wallace led in aces with three each. Marissa Summers had 17 assists.  Smith led in blocks with two. Ellie Miller had 11 digs.

Mulberry Grove was a winner in the junior varsity match,  25-21, 26-24.

At Mulberry Grove

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City -- Smith, 5 kills, 3 aces, 1 assist, 2 blocks, 2 digs; Miller, 3 kills, 1 ace, 11 digs; Summers, 1 ace, 17 assists, 4 digs; Rodman, 6 kills, 2 aces, 3 digs; Schlanser, 1 kill, 8 digs; Wallace, 5 kills, 3 aces, 1 block; Doedtman, 1 assist; Arnett, 2 aces, 2 digs

 

At Farina

The South Central Cougars defeated Ramsey in three sets Tuesday evening.

Ramsey won the opener 25-23 before the Cougars came back to take the match, 25-15, 25-13 in the season opener.

Leading the way were Brooke Cowger with 13 kills and one block, Emma Runge with 10 digs, Megan Yates with 12 assists and Bailey Wodtka with three aces. Reagan Roberts had an overall good match with one kill, 10 assists, two digs and two aces.

The junior varsity was a winner, 25-10, 25-10.

At Farina

South Central -- Runge, 10 digs; Yates, 12 assists, 2 digs, 2 aces; Mitchell, 5 digs, 2 aces; Roberts, 1 kill, 10 assists, 2 digs, 2 aces; Johnson, 1 kill; Chambers, 2 kills, 2 digs, 1 ace; Cowger, 13 kills, 5 digs, 1 block; Jenne, 6 kills; Wodtka, 2 kills, 1 dig, 3 aces

 

At Toledo

Oblong came calling and was a winner in both the junior varsity and varsity contests over Cumberland Tuesday.

Oblong won the varsity match, 25-19, 25-23.

Leading Cumberland were Megan Yaw with four assists, McKenzie Matteson with seven kills, Hannah Shoemaker with five blocks, Matteson, Jadalyn Sowers and Charlee Thornton with an ace each and Thornton with nine digs.

In the junior varsity contest, Oblong was a winner, 25-19, 20-25, 15-6.

At Toledo

At Okaw Valley

Neoga had a tough match and fell to Okaw Valley Tuesday evening.

Okaw Valley won the opener 25-23 but Neoga fought back with a 25-14 score. Okaw Valley then won the match, 27-25.

Haylee Campbell led Neoga with eight kills. Brynn Richards had two blocked shots. Natalie O'Dell and Audrey Kepp had eight assists each. Katelyn Strohl led in digs with eight. Kepp, O'Dell and Gracie Eaton had one ace each.

At Okaw Valley

Neoga -- Campbell, 8 kills, 1 block, 5 digs; O'Dell, 4 kills, 1 block, 8 assists, 1 ace; Richards, 4 kills, 2 blocks; Kepp, 8 assists, 1 ace; Sampson, 5 digs; Eaton, 1 ace

 

At Louisville

North Clay/Clay City fell to Robinson in varsity action Tuesday.

Robinson was a 27-25, 25-22 winner.

North Clay/Clay City won the junior varsity match, 26-24, 25-16 and a freshman/sophomore contest, 25-17, 25-20.
