Teutopolis Volleyball Earns USMC/AVCA Academic Honor

Teutopolis High School was one of 20 Illinois high school volleyball teams to earn the United States Marine Corps/American Volleyball Coaches Association (USMC/AVCA) Team Academic award.

 

Coach Jim Dietz' squad earned the honor by maintaining a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.

A total of 1,333 collegiate and high school volleyball teams in both men's and women's competition earned the award this season. This marks an all-time record number of programs honored for their academic achievements.

Teutopolis also had nine all-state academic winners, the most of any school in Illinois. They were Taylor Bueker (Sr), Emily Konkel (Sr), Emma Deters (Jr), TaNeal Einhorn (Jr), Sara Niemerg (Jr), Danielle Probst (Jr), Summer Wall (Jr),, Sara Zumbahlen (So,), and Ava Ruholl (Fr.).

Other Illinois high school teams earning the honor were: Barrington, Batavia, Bolingbrook, De La Salle Institute, Edwardsville, Hinsdale Central, IC Catholic Prep, Illinois Lutheran, Lyons Township, Metea Valley, Minooka Community, Plainfield North, Romeoville, Saint Ignatius College Prep, Warren Township and Washington Community.
