Seventh-Grade Volleyball Regionals -- Feb. 25

Class 7-1A Martinsville Regional
Both area teams were eliminated in the Martinsville Regional Saturday.
Windsor fell to Oakland Lake Crest. Oakland won the opener 25-23 before Windsor took the second set, 25-20. Oakland Lake Crest then won the match 25-22.
In the second contest, Mattoon St. John's downed Neoga, 25-20, 25-19.
In the second round, top-seeded Martinsville won over Oakland Lake Crest, 25-9, 25-12 and Mattoon St. John's defeated Findlay Okaw Valley, 25-10, 25-12.
Martinsville and Mattoon St. John's will meet at 4:30 p.m. today for the regional championship.
Class 7-1A Sigel St. Michael Regional
Effingham Sacred Heart and Newton St. Thomas advanced to second round play at the St. Michael Regional Saturday.
The Shamrocks defeated Pocahontas but had to go three sets. Pocahontas took the opener 25-5 but Sacred Heart scrambled back with 25-20, 25-19 scores for the match.
St. Thomas then defeated Grayville, 25-7, 25-10.
The final match went to West Salem over Mulberry Grove, 20-25, 25-20, 25-18.
Effingham Sacred Heart will meet top-seeded Sigel St. Michael today at 6 folllowed by Newton St. Thomas and West Salem squaring off at 7. The winners advance to the championship match Thursday at 6 p.m.
Class 7-2A Oblong Regional
Effingham St. Anthony and North Clay (Louisville) picked up victories in the Oblong Regional Saturday.
St. Anthony, seeded fifth, downed fourth-seeded Edwards County (Albion), 25-19, 25-18.
Oblong then beat Dieterich, 25-5, 25-12.
North Clay finished out the day with a 25-12, 25-21 win over Hutsonville.
St. Anthony will meet Paris Crestwood today at 4:30 p.m. followed by North Clay against Oblong at 5:30. The winners will then meet for the championshp Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
Class 7-2A Assumption Central A&M Regional
South Central and St. Elmo/Brownstown advanced while beating out Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and Altamont in the Central A&M Regional Saturday.
In the opener, Ramsey won over the host squad, 25-14, 29-27 and will now meet top-seeded Stewardson-Strasburg at 6 p.m. today.
South Central defeated CHBC, 25-13, 25-12 while St. Elmo/Brownstown was a 25-16, 25-21 winner over Altamont.
South Central and St. Elmo/Brownstown will square off at 7 p.m. today.
The winners of tonight's contests will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. for other regional title.
Class 7-3A Teutopolis Regional
Teutopolis and Jasper County both advanced in this regional Saturday.
T-town, seeded second, was a 25-8, 25-16 winner over Red Hill (Bridgeport) in the second match of the day.
In the opener, Casey-Westfield defeated Lawrenceville Parkview, 25-19, 25-18.
In the third match of the day, Jasper County downed another local squad, Cumberland, 25-18, 25-19.
Top-seeded Robinson Nuttall then took on Casey-Westfield and won in three sets. Casey-Westfield took the opener 28-26 but Nuttall came back with 25-21, 25-14 counts for the match.
In the final match of the day, Teutopolis was a 25-20, 25-19 winner over Jasper County.
T-town will now face Robinson Nuttall at 5 p.m. Tuesday for the regional championship.
Class 7-3A Teutopolis Regional

Class 7-4A Rochester Regional
Effingham advanced to the second round of play with a victory at the Rochester Regional Saturday.
The top-seeded Mustangs met eighth-seeded Charleston and won 25-13, 25-16.
In the second match, Rochester defeated Mattoon, 22-25, 25-20, 25-17. Taylorville then won over Clinton, 25-22, 25-13.
In the final match, Mount Zion downed Stephen Decatur, 25-17, 25-17.
Effingham will now meet fourth-seeded Rochester at 5 today while second-seeded Taylorville will take on third seeded Mount Zion at 6.
The winners will then advance to the championship match Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Class 7-4A Rochester Regional
