Jasper County split victories with Edwards County (Albion) in junior high volleyball competition Thursday.

In seventh-grade play, Jasper County was a winner 25-22, 15-25, 25-22 to improve to 6-5.

Reich led in aces with four and had two kills, five assists and three digs. Ghast had two kills and three digs.

In eighth-grade action, Edwards County was the winner, 25-18, 25-21. Jasper County dropped to 9-2.

Michel led in kills with six for Jasper County while Warfel led in aces with three and blocks with one. Shull led in assists with four. Fehrenbacher had four digs.

At Albion

Seventh-Grade Match

At Neoga

Stewardson-Strasburg picked up two victories over Neoga Thursday.

Stew-Stras won the seventh-grade match, 25-7, 25-14 and now stands at 13-2 on the season.

Jackie Vonderheide led in aces with seven and digs with five. Edie Wittenberg had seven assists and three kills. Karly Wetherell had three kills.

In the eighth-grade contest, Neoga won the opener 25-16 but Stew-Stras came back for the match, 25-16, 25-20 and is now 11-1.

Kendra Hayes had nine digs and 11 kills for the winners. Claire VonBehrens led in assists with seven. Kennedy Kull had five aces.

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City lost in seventh-grade action to Mulberry Grove but won the eighth-grade match Thursday.

CHBC took the opening set 25-21 but Mulberry Grove came back with 25-19, 26-24 scores for the match.

Allison Shields led CHBC with nine points, six aces and two kills. Carissa Wakefield and Brylie Prater had one assist each. Jayla Arnett had two kills. Ethel Stuckemeyer led in blocks with two and digs with four.

"We had to change up our lineup due to a missing player," said CHBC Caoch Angela Jefferies. "These girls actually did amazing adapting to it. This, however, wasn't the reason for the loss. Once again we fell prey to the inconsistency of seventh-grade volleyball."

In the eighth-grade match, CHBC was a winner, 25-7, 25-17.

"The eighth-graders were on fire during this game," said Coach Jefferies. "They played well, communicated with each other and had great rallies."

Jenna Bethel led in points with 12. Gabby Wakefield had five aces. Haley Doty and Keaira Arnold had one assist each. Haley Doty led in kills with six and had one dig. Arnold also had one dig.

At Cowden
