Effingham tallied two victories over Effingham St. Anthony in junior high volleyball competition Thursday evening.

Effingham won the seventh-grade match, 28-26, 25-15. Keagyn Koenig had seven kills  for the Mustangs while Alaina Miller had seven assists. Kiersten Baker, Keagyn Koenig and Aubrey Poe had two aces each.

The Mustangs won the eighth-grade contest, opening with a 25-20 set before St. Anthony took the second set, 25-18. Effingham then won the match, 25-12.

The Mustangs were led by Tessa Raddatz with eight kills and seven aces, Camdyn Burgholzer with 10 assists and Bailey Bohnhoff and Gieah Schlasner with six digs each.

EJHS is back in action Thursday hosting Dieterich.

At St. Anthony

Seventh-Grade Match

At Strasburg

Stewardson-Strasburg handed Teutopolis two losses in Thursday action.

In the seventh-grade contest, Stew-Stras won 25-15, 25-11. The winners were led iby Edie Wittenberg with five digs, three assists and two kills and Karly Wetherell with seven aces. Stew-Stras improved to 7-1.

T-town was led by Summer Vahling with two aces, Alicen Niemerg with two kills, Ella Willenborg with eight digs and Cecilia Donsbach with six assists. The Shoes dropped to 4-4 on the season.

In the eighth-grade match, Stew-Stras captured the victory, 25-23, 25-15 and improved to 7-1 on the season.

Leading the winners were Kendra Hayes with four digs, five assists and six kills and Brooke Schumacher with four digs and two blocks. Stew-Stras is back in action Monday at Windsor.

T-town was led by Gabby Tegeler with four kills and two blocks, Marie Zumbahlen with 20 digs and Brittany Swingler with five assists. T-town is now 5-3 on the season.

At Strasburg

 At Ramsey

Cowden-Herrick and Ramsey split victories Thursday evening.

CHBC won the opener in seventh-grade play 25-20 but Ramsey came back for the match win, 25-23, 25-22.

Leading the Bobcats were Carissa Wakefield with 14 points, five aces and one block, Brylie Prater with one block, Ethel Stuckemeyer with five kills and one dig, Adilyn Nowitzke with one assist and one dig and Jayla Arnett with one dig.

"These girls played well most of the time, but had some missed serves at critical times plus a few other assorted errors," said CHBC Coach Angela Jefferies. "They have great potential, are looking good and it will be exciting to see what they can do in the future once it is all pulled together."

In the eighth-grade match, CHBC was a 25-9, 25-6 winner.

"These girls finally got their serves together at the same time," said Coach Jefferies. "In the first game, not one serve was missed. Only three were missed in game two, giving them a 94% serve rate for the night. Hopefully, we will see more of this in the future."

Haley Doty led in points with 16 and aces with nine for CHBC. Alaynnah Rauch had two assists. Lena Bowlin led in kills with four and had one blocked shot. Keaira Arnold and Jenna Bethel had two digs each.

At Ramsey

South Central tallied two wins over Windsor in Thursday play.

In the seventh-grade match, South Central won, 25-15, 25-9.

In the eighth-grade contest, South Central won 25-10, 25-20 to improve to 5-2.
