Junior High Volleyball -- Jan. 17

The Wooden Shoes claimed the seventh-grade match. They won the opener 25-7 but CHBC claimed the second set 25-18. T-town then won the match 25-15 to improve to 3-2.

Cecilia Donsbach led in aces with seven and two assists with two. Abby Kocher also had seven aces and Emma Vahling also had two assists. Summer Vahling had four kills. Alicen Niemerg led in digs with five.

In eighth-grade action, T-town won 25-12, 25-16 and is 4-1 on the season.

Elise Pals had four aces, one block and 11 digs. Brittany Swingler led in aces with four and assists with three. Gabby Tegeler had five kills.

T-town is back ni action Thursday at Casey-Westfield.

At Strasburg

Stewardson-Strasburg hosted Effingham and nabbed two wins over the Mustangs Tuesday to improve to 3-1 in both seventh- and eighth-grade play.

Stew-Stras captured the seventh-grade match, 25-14, 25-22. Edie Wittenberg and Karly Wetherell had three aces each. Wittenberg led in digs with seven, assists with four and kills with five.

In eighth-grade play, Effingham won the opening 25-22 but Stew-Stras came back with 25-16, 25-21 counts for the match.

Kendra Hayes led in aces with four, digs with eight, and kills with seven. Claire VonBehrens had six assists.

Stew-Stras plays host to Effingham Sacred Heart Thursday at 4 p.m.
