Teutopolis and Marshall split victories in junior high volleyball competition Friday.
Marshall won the seventh-grade match in three sets, 25-23, 21-25, 25-16. T-town dropped to 2-2.
"Even though we lost, we were able to get 36 swings at the ball with our passing and setting," said Coach Anthony Munoz. "That's a big positive for us and it was fun because Marshall was playing the same way."
The nines led the way for the Wooden Shoes as Cecilia Donsbach led with nine assists, Addi Meyer with nine kills and nine digs and Summer Vahling with nine aces.
In eighth-grade play, Teutopolis was a winner 25-17, 25-11 and is now 3-1.
"We keep talking about identifying what the other team is doing and anticipating it so we can act first or react faster and tonight showed we're doing well with it," said Coach Jim Dietz.
The Shoes were led by Elise Pals with six kills and two blocks, Madison Probst and Brittani Swingler with seven assists each, Gabby Tegeler with six aces and Marie Zumbahlen with 22 digs.

At Effingham
South Central came calling at Effingham Sacred Heart and won both seventh- and eighth-grade matches Friday.
South Central put together 25-20, 25-22 scores for the seventh-grade contest.
In eighth-grade play, South Central won 25-11, 25-23.
South Central is now 2-1 on the season in both grades.
At Effingham
South Central defeated Effingham Sacred Heart in seventh-grade play, 25-20, 25-22 and improved to 2-1.
In the eighth-grade match, South Central was a 25-11, 25-23 winner and also is 2-1.
