Teutopolis was a winner over Windsor in junior high volleyball action Thursday.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade match, 25-14, 25-15 and are now 3-1 on the season.

Cecilia Donsbach led in aces with seven and assists with three for the Shoes while Alicen Niemerg had five kills and three digs. Grace Koester had three digs and Emma Vahling had three assists.

"We did a really good job serving tonight," said Coach Anthony Munoz. "That made a big difference."

In eighth-grade action, T-town was a 25-9, 25-10 winner and is also 3-1 on the season.

Leading T-town were Brittany Swingler with 10 aces and four assists, Madison Probst with four assists, Marie Zumbahlen with eight digs and Gabby Tegeler with four kills.

"We were aggressive with our serving and we are starting to get better at identifying freeballs," said Coach Jim Dietz. "We got a lot of hustle from our defense. Kudos to Marie Zumbahlen and Kera Hartke."

At Teutopolis

Seventh-Grade Match

At Strasburg

Stewardson-Strasburg won both matches over South Central in Thursday competition.

In seventh-grade play, South Central won the opener 25-7 but Stew-Stras came back for the match, 25-22, 25-16 and now stands at 2-1.

Edie Wittenberg led the team with eight aces, five assists and seven kills. Karly Wetherell in in digs with six. Ava Harris had one block.

South Central dropped to 1-1.

In the eighth-grade match, Stew-Stras won 25-23, 25-18 and is also 2-1.

Kendra Hayes led the team with two digs, three assists and five kills while Claire VonBehrens led in aces with five, 

South Central is now 1-1 on the season.

At Strasburg

At Sigel

Sigel St. Michael hosted Jasper County and picked up two victories Thursday.

The Sharpshooters won the seventh-grade match, 25-15, 25-18.

Jasper County was led by Reich with three aces, Ghast with five kills, Inyart with five assists and Flowers, Jones, Collins and Radke with two digs each. Jasper County dropped to 0-3.

In the eighth-grade match, St. Michael was a 25-13, 26-24 winner.

Shull led in assists with seven and aces with four while Ochs had five kills, Michl one block and Probst with 12 digs.
