DIETERICH -- Effingham St. Anthony swept Dieterich in volleyball competition Monday evening.

The Bulldogs claimed the freshman/sophomore match, 25-18, 25-7 and won the junior varsity contest, 25-12, 25-13.

St. Anthony was a winner in varsity action, 25-9, 25-22. Andrea Rudolphi led the way in kills for the Bulldogs with five. Anna Faber had four aces and six assists. Addie Wernsing also had six assists. Abbi Hatton led the team in digs with six.

At Neoga

Neoga fell in three sets to Vandalia.

The Indians won the opener 25-17 but Vandalia came back with 25-12, 25-22 scores for the match.

Haylee Campbell and Sydney Richards had seven kills each for Neoga. Campbell led in blocks with four. Andrea Burcham had 10 assists. Klowee Conder led in digs with 15. Allison Worman and Richards had two aces each.

At Martinsville

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City fought and pulled out a victory over Martinsville in three sets Monday.

The Bluestreaks won the opener 25-21 but CHBC fought back with a 27-25 second set and claimed the match 25-20.

Kaycie Stefanski led the winners in kills with six and aces with three. Karlee Smith also had three aces. Madison Wojcik had 13 assists and led in digs with 15. Kyleigh Wallace led in blocks with two. 

Martinsville won the junior varsity match, 25-17, 25-20.

CHBC improved to 9-15 in the varsitiy match but dropped to 3-1-3 in junior varsity play.

At Vandalia

Vandalia played host to Altamont and picked up a victory in two sets Monday.

The Vandals won 25-12, 25-15.

Altamont was led by Peyton Osteen with 13 digs and three assists, Lanie Tedrick with two kills. Briana Hassebrock had one ace and two blocks.

At Arcola

The Lincoln Prairie Conference Tournament got underway Monday evening.

The top three seeds advanced. No. 1 Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond beat Tri-County while No. 2 LSA won over Villa Grove and No. 3 Okaw  Valley downed Cumberland.

Also winning was No. 5 Heritage over No. 4 Blue Ridge.

In first round games Monday, Tri-County beat Cerro Gordo-Bement, Villa Grove won over Arcola and Cumberland downed Argenta-Oreana.

The tournament continues tonight and will finish out with the finals Thursday.
