Effingham St. Anthony played host to Altamont and sent the Indians home with a volleyball loss Tuesday evening.

The Bulldogs won 25-13, 25-14. Andrea Rudolphi led in kills with 12 and had two blocked shots. Abbi Hatton had two aces. Anna Faber led in assists with 14. Laney Coffin had nine digs.

Altamont was led by Lanie Tedrick with six kills, Peyton Osteen with 13 assists, Alyvia Wills with one ace and one block and Maddie Splechter with five digs.

St. Anthony also claimed the junior varsity match, 28-26, 25-16 and the freshman-sophomore contest, 25-18, 25-17.

At Effingham

Effingham picked up an Apollo Conference win over Mount Zion Tuesday in two sets, 25-17, 25-22.

Bria Beals had four kills and seven digs for the Hearts while Hannah Thompson had six assists, Sidney Donaldson had two aces. Raegan Boone also finished with seven digs.

EHS also nabbed the junior varisty match, 25-17, 25-15. Mount Zion was a winner in freshman/sophomore play, 21-18, 18-21, 15-12.

The Hearts are back in action Thursday at Taylorville.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis swept Dieterich in freshman/sophomore, junior varsity and varsity play Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes won the varsity contest, 25-12, 25-22 to improve to 10-12 on the season.

Leading T-town were Molly Pals with three aces, TaNeal Einhorn with six kills, Emily Konkel with three aces and four blocks, Sara Niemerg with nine digs and Sara Swingler with nine assists.

"A key moment in the match was Danielle Probst coming in at the end of the second set after a few minutes of erratic serving by the rest of the team," said T-town Coach Jim Dietz. "She came in at 23-22 and two aggressive serves kept Dieterich from being able to hit the ball, sealing the win for us.

"We had a good first set this evening, started the second well and let our foot off the gas a bit and had two runs of unforced errors. "We missed six serves in the second set. We get one day to practice before two tough matches to end the week. Thursday will be the Purple Game in honor of the late Elizabeth Weidner and then Friday at Stewardson for their homecoming.at the Purple Game, there will be a 50/50 drawing, multiple raffles and a serving contest between the JV and varsity contests."

The Shoes won the junior varsity match, 25-19, 25-22 and the freshman/sophomore contest, 25-9, 25-14, 25-19.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg improved to 5-1 in the National Trail Conference and 10-5 overall with a victory over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Tuesday.

The Hatchets won in two sets, 25-10, 25-8.

"The girls played well tonight as we prepare for North Clay and T-town later this week," said WSS Coach Ronda Schlechte.

Leading the Hatchets were Halle Moomaw with six aces, seven kills and three block assists and Ella Kinkelaar with six digs and 16 assists.

WSS also claimed the junior varsity match, 25-7, 25-23 to improve to 11-2 and won the freshman/sophomore match, 25-14, 25-20 to improve to 10-3-4.

Neoga handed Ramsey a loss in varsity action Tuesday. The Indians won 25-15, 27-25.

Sydney Richards had a good match for Neoga. Richards led, along with Klowee Conder and Andrea Burcham, in digs with eight each. Richards also led in aces with two, kills with eight and blocks with one. Andrea Burcham had 10 assists.

St. Elmo/Brownstown went three sets and captured a victory over Oblong Tuesday.

SEB won the opener 25-11 but Oblong fought back to take the second set, 30-28. The Eagles then claimed the match, 25-22.

Morgan Hall led the winners in kills with 11 and points with 11. Peyton Garrard had three aces and 20 digs.

Newton pushed its overall record to 17-6 on the season with a victory over Vandalia Tuesday.

The Eagles won 25-16, 25-16. Shull led the way in aces with seven and had two blocked shots along with Kessler. Smithenry had seven kills. Schafer led in assists with 16. Bennett led in digs with six.

Newton also claimed the junior varsity match, 25-10, 25-12 and won the freshman contest, 25-15, 25-13.

The Eagles are back in action Thursday at Robinson.
