Neoga came calling and Effingham St. Anthony swept through all three volleyball matches Tuesday.

The Bulldogs won the varsity contest, 25-15, 25-13. Andrea Rudolphi led in kills with seven and blocks with two. Abbi Hatton had three aces. Lucy Fearday had two blocks and Addie Wernsing 13 assists. Maddie Kibler led in digs with eight.

St. Anthony nabbed the junior varsity match, 25-13, 25-18 and took the freshman/sophomore contest, 25-8, 25-14.

At St. Anthony

At Effingham

Effingham fell to Taylorville in Tuesday evening action, 25-23, 25-12.

The Hearts were led by Saige Althoff with four kills, Berkley Pullen with eight assists and one ace, Angela Ballman and Raegan Boone with one ace each. Bria Beals with one block and six digs and Boone and Sidney Donaldson with six digs each.

The Tornadoes also claimed the junior varsity match, 25-22, 25-23 and the freshman/sophomore match, 21-10, 21-15.

At Taylorville

At Newton

Newton handled Fairfield in varsity competition Tuesday.

The Eagles won 25-21, 22-25, 25-22 to improve to 9-4 on the season.

Bennett and Hemrich led in aces with four each. Rauch and Kessler had six kills. Schafer led in assists with 24. Shull and Smithenry had two blocks each. Bennett led in digs with 10.

Newton also nabbed the junior varsity match, 25-18, 22-25, 15-11. Fairfield was a winner in the freshman match, 25-22, 25-20.

At Dieterich

South Central tallied a victory over Dieterich, 25-15, 25-14 Tuesday.

The Cougars were led by Brooklyn Garrett in kills with six, Olivia Brauer in assists with eight, Rayna Hall in aces with six, Sierra Arnold in digs with eight and Brooke Cowger in blocks with four.

South Central is now 5-4 on the season.

The Cougars also claimed the junior varsity match, 25-11, 25-16 and improved to 4-1.

At Dieterich

At Louisville

Altamont won the opener over North Clay (Louisville), 25-18 but the Cardinals came back to win the match, 25-16, 25-18 Tuesday. North Clay improved to 5-3.

Peyton Osteen had 18 assists for Altamont. Alyvia Wills had eight kills and one ace. Della Berg led in blocks with two. Maddie Splechter had 11 digs.

Altamont won the junior varsity match, 25-14, 25-10. North Clay captured the freshman/sophomore match, 25-16, 25-20.

At Louisville

At Cowden

St. Elmo/Brownstown traveled to Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and won the varsity match, 25-15, 25-19 Tuesday.

Laney Baldrige led in kills with six for the winners. Peyton Gerrard and Morgan Hall had three aces each. Baldrige and Kinley Carson had five digs each. Baldrige and Gerrard had six points each.

Clay City was a winner over  Red Hill (Bridgeport) in two sets, 25-12, 25-18.

Sammie Craig led the winners in kills with seven and digs with nine. Keidra Kuenstler had seven aces. Taylor Pittman had three blocks.

At Sullivan

Teutopolis fell to Sulivan in three sets Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes won the opener, 25-23 but Sullivan came back to take the match, 25-23, 25-13. The Shoes dropped to 5-5 on the season.

Niemerg led the Shoes with six kills, two aces and 15 digs. Einhorn had two blocks, Konkel had two blocks and two aces and Zumbahlen led in assists with 17.

"At 23-23 in the second set, we missed a serve and hit the ball out of bounds, then started the third set with eight consecutive unforced errors, opening a margin impossible to overcome," said T-town Coach Jim Dietz. "We had too many mental errors tonight. Twenty missed serves are impossible to recover from and we added to that with hesitation on defense. When we hit the road, we aren't the same team as we are for home games or at practice. Winning on the road is tough and now we get the Crossroads Classic and the teams in that."

T-town claimed the junior varsity win, 25-13, 25-20. The Shoes lost in freshman/sophomore action, 25-23, 25-22.
