Stewardson Trinity Lutheran and Altamont Lutheran split victories in seventh- and eighth-grade volleyball action Tuesday.
Altamont Lutheran claimed the seventh-grade match, 25-22, 25-21. Trinity Lutheran ended the season with a 15-6 record.
In eighth-grade play, Stewardson Trinity was a 25-13, 25-9 winner and improved to 21-2.
"The seventh-grade team finished up their season tonight," said Coach Tammy Meinhart. "Even though it was a loss it didn’t feel like one. The girls have been working hard and executing many of the things we have been working on all season but haven’t had much success with until recently. These girls have shown so much growth over the season. I have to remind myself that they are younger than most of their opponents. We only have three seventh-graders on this team, the rest are fifth- and sixth-graders.
That is one of our keys to success, being able to train the girls when they are young.
"The eighth-grade team won tonight. They keep improving with each match that they play. They are a fun group to watch when they play together as a team. We will wrap up our regular season this Thursday and Friday with a tournament down south at Jasper. We will start regionals and our postseason next week on Tuesday. "
