Stewardson-Strasburg claimed the championship of the Class 7-1A Windsor Regional.
Stewardson-Strasburg claimed the championship of the Class 7-1A Windsor Volleyball Regional Tuesday.
Stew-Stras handed Effingham Sacred Heart a loss with 25-4, 25-9 scores.
The Comets advance to the Class 1A Sigel St. Michael Sectional Monday at 6:30 p.m. and will face host Sigel St. Michael. St. Michael won it's own regional over West Salem Tuesday, 25-16, 25-15.
Class 7-1A Windsor Regional
Stewardson-Strasburg -- Kendra Hayes, 16 points, 2 digs, 3 assists, 8 kills, 10 aces; Edie Wittenberg, 24 points, 2 digs, 5 assists, 4 kills, 8 aces; Claire VonBehrens, 2 points, 3 digs; Kennedy Kull, 6 points, 2 digs, 1 assist, 1 ace; Brooke Schumacher, 2 digs; Karly Wetherell, 1 kill; Jackie Vonderheide, 2 digs; Maddie Clark, 1 dig; Molly Ogle, 2 points
Class 7-1A Sigel St. Michael Regional
Sigel St. Michael captured the championship of its own regional Tuesday.
The Sharpshooters defeated West Salem, 25-16, 25-15.
St. Michael advances to its own sectional and will face Stewardson-Strasburg at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Class 7-3A Robinson Nuttall Regional
Teutopolis and Jasper County advanced to meet each other in the regional champsionship with victories Tuesday.
Teutopolis, the top seed, won over Robinson Nuttall. The Wooden Shoes claimed the opener 25-11 before Robinson Nuttall took the second set 26-24. T-town then won the match 25-7. T-town improved to 13-4.
Jasper County, the second seed, downed Marshall. Jasper County won the opener 25-19 but Marshall claimed the second set 26-24. Jasper County then won the match 25-10. Jasper County is now 13-5.
The two squads will square off at 6:30 p.m. Thursday for the title.
Class 7-3A Robinson Nuttall Regional
Teutopolis -- Madison Probst, 1 ace, 15 assists, 5 kills, 1 dig; Marie Zumbahlen, 9 aces, 3 kills, 3 digs; Gabby Tegeler, 6 kills, 2 digs; Brittany Swingler, 3 aces, 8 assists, 1 kill; Clara Mette, 1 assist, 1 dig; Elise Pals, 2 aces, 12 kills, 3 blocks; Kera Hartke, 3 digs

Class 4-A Taylorville Regional
Taylorville claimed its own regional with a victory over Rochester.
Taylorville won 25-17, 25-22. Taylorville now will host its own sectional Monday and take on the winner of the Mahomet-Seymour Regional, either Champaign Edison or Mahomet-Seymour at 6:30 p.m.
Class 7-2A Effingham St. Anthony Regional
This regional championship will be decided Thursday. South Central will meet Edwards County (Albion) at 5 p.m.
The winner advances to the St. Anthony Sectional Monday at 6:30 p.m. and will meet either Paris Crestwood or Casey-Westfield. Those two squads meet Thursday at 6 p.m. for the championship of the Casey-Westfield Regional.
At Stewardson
Stewardson Trinity and St. Peter Lutheran split regular season victories Tuesday.
St. Peter claimed the seventh-grade match, 25-21, 25-15. Trinity dropped to 15-5 on the season.
In eighth-grade play, Stewardson Trinity was a winner, 25-8, 25-10 and is now 20-2.
Trinity will be back in ation March 8 at Altamont Lutheran.
