The Effingham Junior High School seventh-grade volleyball team won the Urbana Tournament Saturday.

The Mustangs defeated Mahomet-Seymour, 25-12, 25-14 and won over Decatur Catholic, 25-12, 25-21. Effingham then defeated Urbana, 25-22, 25-14.

Effingham is back in action today at Charleston.

At St. Anthony

Effingham St. Anthony and Teutopolis split victories Friday.

T-town was a winner in the seventh-grade match, 25-21, 25-16. T-town is now 10-2 on the season.

In eighth-grade play, St. Anthony was the winner, 25-17, 25-20. tTtown dropped to 8-4.

The Wooden Shoes are back in action tonight hosting Robinson.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City won the consolation championship of the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Volleyball Tournament Saturday.

CHBC lost its opener to Effingham Sacred Heart, 11-25, 25-15, 15-9. CHBC then won against Neoga, 27-25, 8-25, 16-15 and beat South Central 25-22, 25-23.
