N. Clay, S. Central, WSS Are Winners In Volleyball

TEUTOPOLIS -- North Clay (Louisville) improved to 15-5 on the season by downing Teutopolis in high school volleyball action Monday evening.
The Cardinals won the opener 25-21 before T-town rallied for a 25-13 victory. The Cardinals then claimed the match, 25-22.
Leading T-town were Jaden Deters with 11 kills and one ace, Sydnee Huber with two blocks, Lilly Jansen with eight digs, Tia Probst with nine assists, Emily Konkel with one ace and Kaitlyn Schumacher with two blocks.
The Wooden Shoes won the junior varsity match, 25-21, 25-19.

At Farina
South Central swept through junior varsity and varsity contests against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Monday.
The Cougars won the varsity match, 25-12, 25-19 and improves to 5-2 in the National Trail Conference, 14-4 overall.
Leading the winners were Zada Reynolds with 11 assists, six aces and five digs, Halle Smith with six kills and Emma Jenne with a block.
CHBC was led by Marissa Summers and Karlee Smith with three kills each, Madison Wojcik with seven assists, Tatyana Duckwitz and Aspen Rehkemper with five digs each and Wojcik with six points. CHBC drops to 6-11 overall.
In junior varsity play, South Central won 25-21, 25-16 and is 10-1. The Cougars and Bobcats split freshman/sophomore victories. CHBC won 28-26 while South Central won 25-20. South Central is 4-1-3 in frosh/soph play.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg improved to 11-3 on the season with a non-conference win over Shelbyville Monday.
The Hatchets were winners in two sets, 25-20, 25-17. Ella Kinkelaar, Gabby Vonderheide, Natalie Hayes and Brianna Hewing had one ace each for WSS. Halle Moomaw led in kills with eight. Kinkelaar had 22 assists. Vonderheide led in digs with eight. Moomaw had three block assists.
"Shelbyville always puts up a good game," said WSS Coach Ronda Schlechte. "We played the net well tonight and had a pretty solid game across the board."
The Rams claimed the junior varsity match, 25-23, 25-13. WSS drops to 9-3 on the season.
Windsor/Stew-Stras won the freshman/sophomore contest. The Hatchets lost the opener 25-11 but came back with 25-18, 15-10 counts for the win and improved to 11-6-1.

Patoka claimed the opener 25-15 but came back with a 25-19 win. Patoka then took the match, 25-19.
Leading SEB in kills was Morgan Hall with seven. Peyton Garrard had three aces. Lane Baldrige had three solo blocks.
