A big crowd turned out to J.H. Griffin Gym Monday night as Teutopolis hosted Effingham in the Purple Out. The event was held to raise funds for the family of THS student Elizabeth Weidner, who has been battling cancer the past few years.
Teutopolis won the varsity event 25-23, 25-22
For Teutopolis: Taylor Bueker had a dig, two kills, and a set; Jaden Deters had three blocks, four digs, three kills, and a set; Sydnee Huber had two blocks, a kill, and two sets; Lilly Jansen had two digs, an ace and five points; Emily Konkel had two blocks, five digs, five kills and four sets; Tia Probst had a block, two kills, 17 sets and seven assists; Kaitlyn Schumacher had four blocks and two kills; Macy Swingler had four digs, an ace, five points and four sets; Sara Swingler had a dig, 22 sets and six assists; and Summer Wall had eight digs, a kill and four sets.
For Effingham: Ali Davis had an ace; Bria Beals had a kill and seven digs; Brueklyn Belcher had two kills; Kennedy Sowell had five kills an ace, and a dig; Krista Phillips had four kills and an ace; Lexi Chrappa had nine kills and four digs; Mattie Angel had seven assists and a dig; Megan Ballman had an ace and four digs; Olivia Katt had a dig; Sawyer Althoff had two assists and nine digs; Sidney Donaldson had a kill; and Tori Budde had 12 assists and 11 digs.
Teutopolis is now 9-7.
