Effingham played host to Teutopolis in high school volleyball Thursday and claimed three victories.
The Hearts won the varsity match, 25-14, 25-21. Jacy Boatman led in kills with six, aces with two and digs with 13. Tori Budde had nine assists. Morgan Hagler had two aces.
T-town was led by Sydnee Huber and Abby Niemerg with two blocks each, Carly Michels with nine kills, Julia Probst with five digs and Sara Swingler with seven assists and one ace. The Wooden Shoes drop to 4-8 on the season.
In junior varsity action, Effingham lost the opening set 25-22 but came back to win the match, 25-21, 15-10. The Hearts also claimed the freshman/sophomore contest, 21-8, 8-21, 15-12.
The Hearts are back in action Saturday hosting Taylorville at 10 a.m. while the Wooden Shoes will travel to Lincoln Saturday.

At St. Anthony
Altamont handed Effingham St. Anthony losses in junior varsity and varsity National Trail Conference play Thursday.
The Indians won the varsity match, 25-14, 25-22.
The Bulldogs were led by Kyra Swearingen with 17 assists, Kate Hartke with eight points, Ada Rozene with five kills and one block and Lucy Fearday with one ace.
In the junior varsity match, St. Anthony took the opening set 26-24 but Altamont came back with 25-14, 25-14 counts for the match.
The Bulldogs picked up the freshman victory. Altamont took the opener 25-23 but the Bulldogs had 25-19, 15-10 scores to claim the win.

At Louisville
North Clay (Louisville) was a winner in National Trail Conference action over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Thursday.
The Cardinals won the opener 25-13 but CHBC came back with a 25-18 score to tie the match. North Clay then downed the Bobcats 25-17 for the match win.
CHBC was led by Carsen Burks with five kills, Abby Sloan with 16 digs, Zaryah Smith with 11 points, Abby Sloan with nine assists and Tatyana Duckwitz with three blocks.
The Bobcats claimed the junior varsity contest, 25-22, 25-17.
At Louisville

Neoga was a winner in National Trail Conference action over Dieterich Thursday.
The Indians won in two sets, 25-11, 25-22. Ella Shuler and Abby Hatton had eight digs each for the winners. Hatton also finished with three blocks and five kills. Gracie Gresens also had three blocks. Andrea Burcham led in assists with 13. Avery Fearday led in aces with three. Abbi Dow had five kills.
The Movin' Maroons were led by Emily Bloemer with five kills and three assists, Allison Schmidt with three assists, Emily Hall and Iva Lilly with two aces each, Kaitlyn Boerngen with 10 digs and Lilly with three blocks.
In the junior varsity contest, Neoga also nabbed a victory, 25-18, 25-20.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg improved to 7-2 on the season with a win over National Trail Conference opponent, St. Elmo/Brownstown Thursday.
The Hatchets won in two sets, 25-7, 25-21 and are 5-0 in the NTC.
"St. Elmo/Brownstown put up a good fight in the second set as we let up a bit," said WSS Coach Ronda Schlechte. "Our setters really did a nice job running our middles tonight."
Halle Moomaw led in kills with seven while Hannah Hayes and Gabby Vonderheide had six each. Lexi Domzalski had 15 assists and four aces. Jessica Rauch led in digs with five.
St. Elmo/Brownstown was led by Lydia Smith with four assists, three aces, three digs and three points, Jo Strauch with three kills, three digs and three points and Morgan Hall with four digs.
WSS also claimed the junior varsity match, 25-7, 25-22 and now sports a 5-0 conference mark and a 9-0 overall record.
In freshman/sophomore play, Windsor/Stew-Stras won, 25-11, 25-9 and is 4-2.

South Central picked up a victory over Ramsey in a non-conference matchup Thursday.
The Cougars won 25-15, 25-13 to improve to 7-3 on the season. Halle Smith led in kills with 11. Madyson Magnus led in assists with nine. Sydnee Garrett, Magnus and Zada Reynolds had two aces each. Olivia Brauer led in digs with five.
South Central also nabbed the junior varsity match, 25-11, 25-14 and is now 6-4. The frosh-soph squad won 25-13, 25-21 and is now 6-2-1.
The Cougars are back in action Saturday at Sandoval.

The Eagles of Newton came out the winner in Thursday evening play.
Newton won over Lawrenceville, 25-16, 25-15 and improved to 5-5 on the season.
Utley led the Eagles in kills with six. Chapman had 15 assists while Ochs had two blocked shots. B. Johnson finished with nine digs.
In the junior varsity match, Newton also claimed the win, 25-14, 25-9.
Newton will return to action Saturday against Mount Carmel with the freshmen at 10 a.m., JV at 11 a.m. and varsity at noon.
