Shelbyville tallied a victory over St. Elmo/Brownstown in high school volleyball competition Wednesday.

 

The Rams won the opener 25-8 then came back for the match with a 25-10 tally.

"We took control of their match from the start and didn't look back," said Shelbyville Coach Jamie Watson. "I was able to get everyone in the match tonight and everyone did their job for the win. The next few matches ae going to be very competitive. We are definitely going to have to play our "A" game and play with discipline."

Leading the Rams were Kya McConnell with 18 points and 10 assists, Chloe Watson with seven kills and five digs and Mal Holland with two blocks. The Rams remained unbeaten at 9-0.

St. Elmo/Brownstown was led by Laney Baldridge with three kills, eight digs and three points, Peyton Garrard with four assists and Lillian Nolen with one blocked shot.

In junior varsity action, Shelbvyille won, 25-16, 25-16 to improve to 8-1. The freshman/sophomore contest also went to the Rams, 25-8, 25-10. Shelbyville is now 7-0-1 on the season.

Patoka tallied two victories over North Clay (Louisville) Wednesday.

Patoka won the varsity match, 25-14, 27-25.

In the junior varsity contest, the Warriors were winners, 25-23, 25-20.
