Stewardson-Strasburg ended the regular season in style with two victories over Effingham Sacred Heart in junior high volleyball action Thursday.

 

Stew-Stras claimed the seventh-grade match, 25-22, 25-16 and has an 11-2 record.

Kendra Hayes had two digs and seven assists for the winners. Lauren Longwell led in aces with five. Aubree Antrim had four kills.

The eighth-grade squad finished regular season play undefeated with a perfect 13-0 record.

Sacred Heart took the opening set, 28-26 before Stew-Stras rallied for 25-11, 25-17 wins.

Kinley Quast led the winners in digs with eight and kills with 10. She had four aces. Samantha Hayes led in assists with 15 and had nine kills.

At Strasburg

Seventh-Grade Match

At Vandalia

Teutopolis split wins with Vandalia in action Thursday.

The Wooden Shoes nabbed the seventh-grade match, 25-4, 25-15. Allie Ruholl had seven aces and three assists. Anna Probst also had seven aces. Olivia Kemme led in kills with four. T-town ends the regular season with a 7-6 record. They play at Vandalia Monday at 5 p.m. in regional action.

In the eighth-grade contest, Vandalia was a winner, 25-22, 25-20.

Claresa Ruholl led the Shoes in digs with five. Ella Wermert had six assists. Jenny Bloemer and Chloe Probst had four kills. Sara Zumbahlen led in aces with four.

T-town ends the regular season at 5-8 and will compete in regional action Friday, March 12.

At Vandalia

Seventh-Grade Match

At Cowden

Neoga tallied two victories over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Thursday.

Neoga won the seventh-grade match, 25-16, 25-23.

"The girls played well together in their last regular match of the season," said CHBC Coach Angela Jefferies. "I'm so excited about what they have achieved. Next year these girls will be the foundation of both our seventh- and eighth-grade teams as they are all sixth- and seventh-graders this year.

In the eighth-grade contest, Neoga won the opener 31-29 before CHBC took the second set, 25-19. Neoga then claimed the match 25-23.

"This was a hard-fought match played by two very determined teams," said Jefferies. "During our first game we just couldn't get our ending points that we needed. We lost focus during our third game and while we came back from many points down, it wasn't enough."

At Cowden
