Effingham Sacred Heart fell to Sigel St. Michael in junior high volleyball action Monday.

 

The Sharpshooters took the seventh-grade match, 25-12, 25-23.

In eighth-grade action, St. Michael claimed a 25-23 win before the Shamrocks won the second set 25-18. St. Michael then claimed the match 25-22.

 

At Strasburg

Stewardson-Strasburg played host to Neoga and claimed two victories Monday.

Stew-Stras tallied a 25-6, 25-17 win in seventh-grade play to improve to 8-2 on the season. Kendra Hayes had 20 aces in the contest.

In the eighth-grade contest, Stew-Stras remained unbeaten with a 25-12, 25-19 win. Stew-Stras is now 10-0 on the season. Ellie Wittenberg had five assists, six kills, one block and five aces to lead Stew-Stras.

At Dieterich

Dieterich tallied wins over Windsor in Monday play.

Dieterich took the seventh-grade match, 25-18, 29-27. A. Uthell led in kills with five, aces with five and digs with four.

In the eighth-grade cotnest, Windsor won the opener 26-24 but Dieterich came back with 25-9, 26-24 scores for the match. B. Niemerg led in kills with 11 and aces with seven. Verdeyen had five blocks while Jansen led in digs with 15.

At Cowden

Altamont tallied two victories over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Monday.

The seventh-grade contest went to Altamont. Altamont claimed the opening set, 25-20 before Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City took the second set 25-15. Altamont then claimed the match 25-17 to improve to 4-4 in the National Trail Conference,  4-6 overall.

Hollinshead had five kills and six aces for the winners. Lurkens also had six aces. Hollinshead and Spar had two digs each. Rippetoe led in assists with four.

CHBC was led by Ryleigh Sarver, Lena Burgess and Keaira Arnold with 10 points each. Sarver had three aces.

Altamont improved to 7-1 in the NTC, 8-2 overall with a 25-15, 27-25 win in eighth-grade action.

Lemke had eight kills for the winners. Splechtor led in aces with eight and assists with 18. Reardon had eight digs.

CHBC was led by Kyleigh Linder with seven points, three aces and four blocks.

At Cowden

At Kinmundy

North Clay (Louisville) tallied victories over South Central Monday.

North Clay won the seventh-grade encounter, 25-16, 25-17.

In the eighth-grade contest, North Clay was a winner 25-12, 25-21.
